Here's an early look at another fantasy flyer being readied for the upcoming SEMA Show in November. A co-creation of Hyundai and the EGR Group, the Veloster Turbo "Yellowcake" Night Racer Concept is a high-profile one-off intended to show the T-charged Veloster's potential as a time attack competitor, specifically for events held after dark. The car is named after its eye-searing Yellowcake exterior, a custom hue that EGR turned to PPG and Barry's Speed Shop for help in developing. Other exterior modifications include a full EGR body kit, Wurton roof-mounted LED light bar and trick ONEighty headlamps.
The heart of the Yellowcake Night Racer Concept remains Hyundai's 1.6-liter turbocharged Gamma 4-cylinder, but power-focused modifications by Bisimoto Engineering coupled with an AEM intake, MagnaFlow exhaust and  a steady diet of VP Racing Fuels VP101 gasoline help boost output to 250 horsepower. To help it cope with that extra muscle from a structural standpoint, the car is fitted with a Creations n' Chrome custom roll cage and an AEM front strut bar. Chassis modifications include an ARK coil-over suspension, Brembo performance brakes and 3-piece DPE racing wheels wrapped in super-sticky Toyo Proxes R888 semi-slicks. Rounding out the mix, the Yellowcake Night Racer's Katzkin-designed cabin boasts Takata racing seats and harnesses.
